Live Game Information Only

The PUV Neverwinter Hub is built around information that is currently live in Neverwinter. Preview-server changes are not treated as live game information until they are officially released.

The Old Official Forums Are No Longer the Main Community Hub

In 2025 the Arc Games forums were replaced by official game Discord servers. When searching for recent developer communication, bug reporting or current discussions, check the official Neverwinter Discord rather than relying only on old forum posts.

Community Tools & Databases

Neverwinter has several excellent player-created tools. Because community projects can stop updating at any time, always check whether the information matches the current live game before making an expensive build decision.

Neverwinter Hub

One of the most useful current Neverwinter resources. Includes character tools, public builds, combat simulations, combat-log parsing, stat calculators, gear, artifacts, companions, mounts, enchantments, Stronghold tools and more.

Rainer's Character Builder Plus

Character-planning tool for testing equipment, stats and build combinations before investing resources in game.

Check the release date and supported module before relying on any version for current equipment.

Rainer's Pocket Wiki 2

Large spreadsheet covering companions, mounts, artifacts and many other Neverwinter systems.

It remains an excellent reference, but some sections may not reflect the newest live module.

Check the Date Before Following a Build Neverwinter changes frequently. A guide can still be online while the gear, stats, enchantments, companions or mechanics it describes have already changed. Always check the module and publication or update date.

Community Class Discords

These are player-run class communities rather than official Neverwinter servers. They can be useful for class-specific discussions, rotations, builds and questions.

Discord invites can expire. These are community-run servers and their owners control their invites. If one stops working, check the official Neverwinter community or let the PUV website team know so the link can be updated.

Your Guild & Alliance Should Still Be Your First Stop

Class servers and public guides are useful, but your own guild and alliance can help you understand what is expected in the groups you actually run with. Ask questions, request training and use public guides as another source of information rather than a replacement for communication.

Advanced Combat Tracker — PC

Advanced Combat Tracker, commonly called ACT, can read Neverwinter's combat log and help players study damage, encounters and combat performance.

PC Only ACT and Neverwinter combat-log parsing are PC tools. Console players do not have the same local combat-log access.

Turning the Neverwinter Combat Log On & Off

PC players can start or stop Neverwinter combat logging through the chat command system.

Start Logging

/CombatLog 1

Starts writing combat information to the Neverwinter combat log.

Stop Logging

/CombatLog 0

Stops writing new combat information to the log.

Need more commands? See the dedicated Key Bindings & Commands guide.

Basic Combat-Log Workflow

Install Advanced Combat Tracker or choose another current Neverwinter-compatible log analyzer.
Configure the Neverwinter parser or analysis tool you intend to use.
Enter /CombatLog 1 in Neverwinter before the content you want to analyze.
Run the dungeon, trial, training encounter or test.
Enter /CombatLog 0 when you are finished.
Load the combat log into your chosen analysis tool.
Use the results to look for patterns instead of judging a build from one number alone.

What Combat Logs Can Help You See

Damage

Total damage, individual power contribution and how your rotation performed during the encounter.

Timing

Artifact calls, mount powers, buffs, debuffs and whether important effects lined up with damage windows.

Deaths

What damaged you, whether a mechanic was missed and what happened immediately before you went down.

Healing

Healing output, ability contribution and encounter-specific healing patterns.

Group Support

How buffs, debuffs and coordinated group effects contributed during a fight.

Rotation Testing

Compare different powers, timings or build adjustments under similar conditions.

A Parser Is a Tool — Not the Whole Story

The highest damage number does not automatically mean someone played the encounter correctly. Mechanics, revives, positioning, party buffs, tanking, healing and group support all matter. Use combat data to learn what happened, not simply to rank players.

How to Tell Whether Neverwinter Information Is Current

Check the date. A guide written several modules ago may describe systems that no longer exist.
Check the module. Look for the module number or expansion name the guide was made for.
Live and Preview are not the same. Preview-server information can change before release. Do not treat preview values as live-game facts.
Check the in-game tooltip. If an old guide disagrees with the current live item or power description, investigate before spending resources.
Look for recent patch notes. A class, artifact, companion, mount, enchantment or encounter may have been changed after a guide was published.
Use more than one source. Important build or investment decisions are worth checking against the Neverwinter Hub, current community tools and the live game.
Be Careful With Old Neverwinter Wikis Older wiki pages can still be excellent for quests, lore, locations and historical information, but many item stats, combat systems and build recommendations have changed. Do not assume a page is current simply because it still appears in search results.

Where Should I Ask a Question?

Guild or Alliance

Best for help with your actual character, group expectations, training runs and content your community regularly runs.

Class Discord

Useful when you need detailed advice about powers, rotations, feats or class-specific mechanics.

Official Discord

Useful for official community discussion, bug reporting, developer feedback and current game announcements.

Neverwinter Hub

Best when you want organized written information without searching through chat history.

Creators

Video guides can be very useful for seeing mechanics, rotations, builds and locations in action.

Current Databases

Use maintained databases when you need exact information on current gear, mounts, companions or other game systems.
