Shards & Influence

Shards of Power and Influence are important Stronghold resources. Guild members can earn them through Stronghold quests, Heroic Encounters, Marauders and other guild activities, then donate them to the Stronghold Coffer to help build and upgrade the guild.

Why These Resources Matter

Influence

Influence is one of the primary resources used to develop a guild Stronghold.

The most common sources are Stronghold Heroic Encounters and the Marauders guild event.

Shards of Power

Shards of Power are used for Stronghold construction and upgrades.

Different shard types come from different activities, quests and areas of the Stronghold system.

Influence from Stronghold Heroic Encounters

Each character can earn up to 400 Influence per day from Stronghold Heroic Encounters.

Heroic Encounter Influence Reward Running Total
1st Heroic Encounter 150 Influence 150
2nd Heroic Encounter 120 Influence 270
3rd Heroic Encounter 75 Influence 345
4th Heroic Encounter 35 Influence 380
5th Heroic Encounter 20 Influence 400
Good to know: The Influence reward does not depend on the difficulty or size of the Heroic Encounter. An eligible major Heroic Encounter can also award Heroic Shards of Power.

Marauders

Marauders is a guild Stronghold event that must be triggered and normally requires multiple players to complete.

Each character can earn 600 Influence once per week from Marauders.

Because the reward is character-based, players with multiple characters can complete Marauders once per week on each eligible toon.

Stronghold Heroic Encounter Influence Run Guidelines

These guidelines are for organized Stronghold Heroic Encounter Influence runs.

The guild hosting the Influence run should post a reminder in Alliance chat and the appropriate event-reminder location, including the Stronghold location.
Unless otherwise announced, the hosting guild normally runs the Heroic Encounters needed to reach the daily Influence total.
Do not attack the Heroic Encounter until everyone has arrived and has a chance to receive credit.
Watch summoned companions so they do not accidentally aggro enemies and start the encounter early.
Once all groups have arrived, the host will let everyone know when to attack.
Help the host by letting them know if you are waiting for a party member before the group moves to the next encounter.
If you arrive late, pick up your Stronghold quests and join the group at the next encounter rather than making the entire run wait.
If you need to go AFK, say so in Alliance chat or Discord voice so the group knows not to wait.
If you cannot finish the run, leave the group so another player who needs a party can take the available spot.
Check the Alliance event schedule for current Influence run times and hosting guilds.

Heroic Shards of Power

Heroic Shards of Power are required for Stronghold construction and upgrades. Several Stronghold quests can reward these shards.

The Builder is one of the most important NPCs to check regularly. Not every Builder quest awards Heroic Shards, so it is useful to know which quests do.

What Lurks in the Corner

A Stronghold quest associated with Heroic Shard rewards.

The Great Detective

A Stronghold quest available as the guild develops further that can reward Heroic Shards.

Welcome to Homestead

A one-time Stronghold quest that can award Heroic Shards.

Tip: Pick up Stronghold quests before participating in guild activities. Some quests can complete naturally while you are already running Heroic Encounters, Dragonflight or other Stronghold content.

Time Trial

The Stronghold Time Trial sends players along a route through the Stronghold. Rewards depend on the tier reached.

Tier Reward
Tier 1 Minor Astral Diamonds Voucher
Tier 2 Heroic Shards of Power and Minor Astral Diamonds Voucher
Tier 3 Heroic Shards of Power, Minor Astral Diamonds Voucher and Minor Surplus Equipment Voucher

Stronghold Heroic Encounters

The Stronghold contains multiple Heroic Encounters. Some are faster and more convenient than others when an Alliance is running them specifically for Influence or shard farming.

Bickering Beholders
Giants Among the Dead
No Sympathy
Hideaway Crisis
Canyon Crisis
Lake Crisis
Farming tip: Not every encounter is equally efficient. Organized Influence runs usually favor encounters that can be completed quickly while allowing everyone in the group time to arrive and receive credit.

Adventurer's Shards of Power

Adventurer's Shards of Power are another Stronghold resource used for guild development.

The Ranger

The Ranger offers Stronghold quests including Defending the Stronghold, which can reward Adventurer's Shards of Power.

Master of Coin

The Master of Coin offers support quests connected to campaign areas, including Dread Ring, Icewind Dale and Well of Dragons.

These quests can provide additional Stronghold resources while giving members a reason to revisit older campaign areas.

Watch for Bonus Stronghold Events

During applicable bonus events, Stronghold resource rewards may be increased. This can be an excellent time to run multiple characters, stock the Coffer and help the guild make progress on its current upgrade target.

Helping Your Guild Efficiently

Pick Up Quests First

Grab Stronghold quests before joining guild activities so you can earn multiple rewards at the same time.

Use Multiple Characters

Many Stronghold rewards are character-based. Additional characters can greatly increase how much you contribute.

Check the Coffer

Before donating, check the guild's current target so the resources you earn go where they are needed most.
