Module 26
Demonweb Pits
🕷️ Module Overview
Demonweb Pits released on July 18, 2023 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox as Neverwinter's 26th module. It concludes the Menzoberranzan story arc, opens the shattered district of Narbondellyn, introduces customizable Abyssal Hunts and adds the five-player Demonweb Pits dungeon.
Gromph Baenre has recovered the powerful artifact Zhaun'ol'leal. His ritual links the Material Plane to Lolth's domain, fractures Narbondellyn and lets demons pour through the breach. Bregan D'aerthe, the mages of Sorcere and Neverwinter's adventurers answer by constructing the Realm Engine—a lost Netherese device fueled by Abyssal magic—to force Lolth back and close the bridge.

📜 Demonweb Pits Campaign
Begin with a level-20 character through the Campaign Journal. The published launch path lists 60,000 Total Item Level. Story progress moves from the broken district and Gromph's ritual to the construction of the Realm Engine and the final push into Lolth's realm.
| Stage | What to Do | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Enter Narbondellyn | Follow the Campaign Journal into the shattered grounds of House Fey-Branche. | Introduces the demonic breach, the district and the campaign's central crisis. |
| 2. Aid the Alliance | Work with Bregan D'aerthe and the mages of Sorcere through the available story quests. | Advances the plan to oppose Gromph and sever the bridge to the Abyss. |
| 3. Unlock Abyssal Hunts | Complete the mission Through the Tear, then investigate eligible Abyssal Tears. | Opens the module's repeatable hunt system and its modifier progression. |
| 4. Build the Realm Engine | Complete weekly campaign tasks and collect Sigils of Sorcere. | Advances the campaign toward its 1,000-Sigil completion point. |
| 5. Enter the Demonweb | Queue for the appropriate Demonweb Pits difficulty when the character and group are ready. | Concludes the central conflict and opens dungeon-specific reward paths. |
Weekly Progress
The published campaign allowed up to 100 Sigils of Sorcere per week toward a 1,000-Sigil track. Check the live Journal before planning a farm.
Returning Character
Check the current milestone, weekly cap and available story mission before repeating zone activity that may not advance the campaign.
Alt Character
Campaign advancement is character-specific unless a current completion token or account unlock explicitly states otherwise.
🕸️ Narbondellyn Adventure Zone
Narbondellyn is the former ground of House Fey-Branche. Gromph's ritual has fractured the district, opened a bridge between worlds and turned its ruins into a battlefield filled with demons, rival forces and unstable Abyssal magic.
House Fey-Branche
The ruined estate frames the campaign's mystery and shows the physical cost of Gromph's ritual. Follow the current quest tracker when vertical paths or broken terrain obscure the route.
Sorcere & Bregan D'aerthe
The alliance provides the magical knowledge, intelligence and manpower needed to construct the Realm Engine and reach the Demonweb Pits.
Abyssal Tears
Hunt portals appear in Narbondellyn and extend into the Duthcloim and Braeryn areas. The hunt tier and chosen modifiers determine the challenge.
Repeatable Activity
Story quests, campaign tasks, local encounters and Abyssal Hunts form the zone's repeatable loop after the initial unlocks are complete.
🔥 Abyssal Hunts & Tear Modifiers
Complete Through the Tear to unlock Abyssal Hunts. These encounters can be entered solo or with a group. Party members may propose modifiers before entry; accepted modifiers increase the difficulty and improve the reward opportunity. Additional and stronger modifier options unlock as the hunt system progresses.
| Hunt Tier | Role in Progression | Before Entering |
|---|---|---|
| Lesser Abyssal Tears | Entry tier for learning the activity and beginning hunt progression. | Review the live objective and start with modifiers the player or group can finish reliably. |
| Abyssal Tears | Middle tier with a stronger challenge and improved reward potential. | Confirm the chosen modifiers and build a group if solo completion is inconsistent. |
| Greater Abyssal Tears | Highest hunt tier and the most demanding modifier combinations. | Coordinate roles, choose useful modifiers deliberately and verify the desired reward source first. |
Choose a Purpose
Decide whether the goal is campaign progress, a particular reward, modifier advancement or a group challenge before spending time on a tear.
Use Group Proposals
Modifiers are a party decision. Read each effect, agree on the risk and avoid adding difficulty that does not help the group's actual goal.
Verify the Reward
Drop pools and values may change. Check the live hunt interface and item tooltip before committing to repeated runs.
🛡️ Campaign, Gear & Reward Paths
Demonweb Pits spreads its rewards across campaign milestones, Abyssal Hunts, the campaign store and three dungeon difficulties. The correct activity depends on the exact item or unlock being pursued, so use the current source tooltip before starting a long farm.
| Source | Reward Focus | Verify Before Farming |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign Milestones | Published rewards included the Vigilante's Mask, Abyssal Hound vanity pet, Netherese Engineer's Essentials, a Glyph of Potency and Eilistraee's Bounty Choice Pack. | The character's current milestone, weekly progress and exact live reward. |
| Abyssal Hunts | Tier- and modifier-dependent hunt rewards. | Tear tier, selected modifiers, eligible drop pool and binding status. |
| Campaign Store | Purchases unlocked through Demonweb Pits campaign progress. | Required unlock, currency cost, purchase limit and equip effect. |
| Demonweb Pits Dungeon | Difficulty-specific equipment, achievements and end-chest rewards. | Selected tier, queue requirement, chest pool, key or reroll cost. |
| Historical Battle Pass | Time-limited Chaos Between Realms free and premium rewards. | Do not treat an archived Battle Pass reward as a permanent campaign drop. |
Compare the Full Item
Item Level alone does not determine value. Compare equip powers, role needs, percentage bonuses, trigger conditions and realistic uptime.
Separate Permanent Sources
Campaign, hunt and dungeon rewards remain distinct from the expired Battle Pass. Confirm which system originally supplied an item.
⚔️ Demonweb Pits Dungeon
Demonweb Pits is a five-player dungeon with Normal, Advanced and Master versions. The party follows the Realm Engine plan into Lolth's domain, fights through the Abyss and confronts the forces maintaining the bridge between planes.
Commander Sikasila
An early major encounter that establishes the dungeon's need for positioning, target awareness and coordinated survival.
Ahmatot the Shiny
A distinctive Demonweb encounter where the party must read the arena and react cleanly rather than relying on raw damage alone.
Gromph Baenre
The architect of the ritual stands between the party and the final effort to sever Lolth's connection to the Material Plane.
Lolth
The climax tests the group's execution as the Realm Engine is used to repel the Spider Queen and close the planar bridge.
Published Launch Requirements
| Difficulty | Launch Item Level | Best Use | Preparation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | Use the current queue requirement | Story completion and learning the broad encounter flow. | Read the live queue and enter with a functional role build. |
| Advanced | 60,000 | A stronger mechanics and group-coordination check. | Know major attacks, role responsibilities and recovery points. |
| Master | 80,000 | Organized endgame challenge and Master-specific rewards. | Use a coordinated group with practiced mechanics and appropriate consumables. |
🧭 Hero's Path
Hero's Path arrived as a Meta Adventure in the Adventures system. It gives level-20 characters a clearer route through Neverwinter's many progression systems and turns long-term account development into a visible sequence of goals and rewards.
Character Development
Goals introduce or reinforce mount bolster, companion bolster, enchantments, insignias and mount collars—the systems that sit behind a character's displayed Item Level.
Queue Experience
Random Queue tasks encourage players to learn group content, role expectations and the repeatable sources used for broader progression.
Legacy Campaigns
Sybella Artis's Legacy Campaign quests direct players back to older zones for currency, completion and account-building resources.
Advanced Combat
Instructor Corbin's lessons reinforce combat tactics that are easy to miss when a character reaches level 20 quickly.
