Which Player Are You?

Brand New Player

You are leveling your first character and have not reached level 20.

Leveling & Level 20 Guide

Just Reached Level 20

You finished the leveling Adventures and suddenly have campaigns, queues, boons and many upgrade systems available.

What to Do at Level 20

Returning Player

Your character may be familiar, but several systems may no longer work the way you remember.

The Current Level Cap Is 20

Neverwinter's modern leveling path uses six Leveling Adventures that take a new character from the tutorial through level 20.

First Things First

Choose the class you enjoy playing rather than chasing a temporary meta.
Complete the main Leveling Adventures instead of skipping randomly between zones.
Claim the completion rewards from the Adventures interface.
Learn what your At-Wills, Encounters, Daily powers and Class Features actually do.
At level 20, begin campaigns and Adventures that fit your current character progression.
Join a guild and take advantage of people who can answer questions or run training content.
Learn the stat system before spending heavily on gear or enchantments.
Upgrade gradually. Do not spend every resource trying to copy one endgame build immediately.

What Not to Worry About Yet

You do not need perfect gear, every Mythic companion, maximum Mount Bolster or every endgame artifact immediately.

Learn your character, complete accessible progression and replace weak pieces over time.

Progression is cumulative. Neverwinter is much easier when you improve several systems steadily instead of trying to max one expensive system while ignoring everything else.

Ask for Help

A good guild or alliance can save you hours of confusion. Ask for mechanics explanations, training runs and build help instead of silently guessing.
