New to Level 20

You reached maximum level. Now the real character progression begins. Campaigns, boons, gear, companions, mounts, enchantments and group content all become part of building your character.

You Are Not Supposed to Be Endgame Yet

Level 20 means you finished leveling. It does not mean your character is finished. Do not compare a brand-new level 20 character with someone who has years of account progression.

Finish Your Leveling Rewards

The six Leveling Adventures provide useful rewards, currency and starter progression items. Make sure their completion rewards have actually been claimed.

Neverdeath Graveyard

Levels 2–5.

Vellosk

Levels 5–8.

Ebon Downs

Levels 8–11.

Icespire Peak

Levels 11–14.

The Chasm

Levels 14–17.

Whispering Caverns

Your First Level 20 Priorities

Choose the Paragon Path and role you actually want to play.
Create usable single-target and AoE power loadouts.
Open the Campaigns and Adventures interface and see what content is available to you.
Begin earning Boon Points from accessible Adventures and campaigns.
Join Random Queues you qualify for and begin learning group play.
Start Sybella's Legacy Campaign weeklies when eligible.
Improve gear, enchantments, companions and mounts gradually.
Check your actual stat percentages whenever you make significant equipment changes.

Campaigns & Boons

Campaign progression unlocks Boon Points, story content, zones, stores, currencies and access to additional group content.

You do not need to finish every campaign in release order. Start with campaigns your character can comfortably access and work through them steadily.

Boons add up. One Boon Point may not look dramatic, but campaign completion across an account builds a meaningful amount of character progression.

Build Systems to Improve Together

Gear

Look at equipment bonuses as well as Item Level.

Enchantments

Use them to support needed stats and combat effects.

Companions

Your summoned companion, player bonuses and companion equipment all matter.

Mounts

Combat powers, equip powers, insignias, collars and bolster contribute to your build.

Artifacts

Use an active artifact appropriate for solo play or group support.

Stats

Do not blindly increase Item Level while destroying your stat balance.

Item Level Opens Doors — It Does Not Play the Character

Meeting the Item Level requirement gets you into content. Knowing your class, role and mechanics is what helps the group complete it.

Weekly Progression

Sybella

Legacy Campaign quests provide Heroes Medallions and extra campaign currency.

Random Queues

Useful for Astral Diamonds, seals and learning older group content.

Campaign Weeklies

Many campaigns provide larger weekly rewards in addition to daily tasks.

Events

Check the calendar. Events frequently offer companions, mounts, refinement items and other account progression.

Stronghold

Guild activity can provide Guild Marks, boons and additional progression opportunities.

Invocation

Use normal account systems consistently rather than trying to earn everything in one session.

Do Not Spend Everything Immediately

New level 20 players receive many currencies and upgrade materials before they know what those materials are worth.

Ask before spending rare resources. Coalescent Motes, large amounts of Astral Diamonds, upgrade tokens and refinement reagents are much easier to waste than to replace.
