❄️ Module Overview

Neverwinter: Biting Cold released on May 19, 2026 as Neverwinter’s 33rd module. The adventure travels north of Icewind Dale to The Reghed Edge, where players help the settlement of Kaldrfisk survive threats from giants, monsters and the unnatural cold.

The module adds a permanent campaign, six Heroic Encounters across three arenas, the recurring Encroaching Frost zone event, and the three-difficulty Jotunskar dungeon. Its equipment progression moves from Epic campaign and zone rewards through Legendary and Mythic dungeon equipment, with select Celestial rewards at the highest end.

🏔️ The Reghed Edge

The Reghed Edge lies north of Icewind Dale between the Reghed Glacier and the Sea of Moving Ice. The isolated settlement of Kaldrfisk anchors the campaign while adventurers explore the Frostwood, the Shattered Chasm and other frozen wilderness locations.

The campaign settlement and staging point for quests, vendors and the region’s defense.

Six Heroics

Six Heroic Encounters rotate across three arenas and supply campaign progress, currency and equipment.

Named Encounters

Named enemies, including Reghed Baugr, add repeatable challenges and zone rewards.

Zone Loop: Complete campaign quests and Heroics, watch for Encroaching Frost, defeat Named Encounters, and use the rewards to prepare for Jotunskar.

🌨️ Encroaching Frost

Encroaching Frost is the zone’s recurring large-scale activity. Heroic Encounters help bring the next event forward, so active instances generally cycle into it faster.

1. Gather Power

Fight mephits and air archons, open event chests, and interact with event nodes to fill the shared meter.

2. Complete the Ritual

When the meter is full, advance the ritual while using campfires and braziers to withstand the cold.

3. Defeat the Reaver

Finish the event by defeating the Stormbound Reaver and collect the event reward.

Farming Tip: Continue completing Heroics between events. They provide their own rewards and help hasten the next Encroaching Frost cycle.

🧊 Jotunskar Dungeon

Jotunskar is the module’s central dungeon and is available in Normal, Advanced and Master. Its defining system is Frostbite: damaging mechanics can add stacks that slow and harm the player. At 25 stacks, the player dies and cannot be revived normally.

Clear Frostbite in the yellow heat circles created by braziers. Each heat source has limitations or a cooldown, so the group must coordinate instead of consuming every safe point immediately.

🟢 Normal

Learn the boss sequence, Frostbite management and standard dungeon mechanics.

🟠 Advanced

Stronger mechanics with Legendary armor, weapons, rings and clothing.

🔴 Master

Endgame version with Mythic gear, Celestial clothing and Cosmic Dust.

Frostbite Rule: Do not wait until 24 stacks to look for heat. Know the nearest available brazier, respect its cooldown, and communicate before using it.

⚔️ Jotunskar Bosses

1. Hu’Nang

Hu’Nang fights alongside the basilisks Epli, Ber and Ploma. Keep the three basilisks low, bring Hu’Nang low, then finish the basilisks before killing the boss.

  • Avoid burrow and icicle hazards.
  • Prepare for the resurface attack and tank buster.
  • Move away from flame spit.
  • Turn away from basilisk eye beams and avoid their spin.

2. Oddgeir

Corner vents provide heat for clearing Frostbite. During the sacrifice mechanic, two adds appear in opposite areas and move toward Oddgeir.

  • Kill both sacrifices before they reach the boss.
  • A successful sacrifice becomes Ascended and creates a persistent damaging aura.
  • Prioritize adds over boss damage.

3. Herleifr

The final encounter combines totems, blizzard zones and a transferable infection mechanic.

  • Manage totems and keep safe space available.
  • Use jump or charge mechanics to clear troublesome zones when appropriate.
  • Pass the infection deliberately—treat it like “hot potato.”
  • Call transfers and movement clearly.
Best Group Habit: Mechanics come before damage. Clean Frostbite management, sacrifice control and clear infection calls prevent more wipes than an extra damage rotation.

Gear Corrections

  • Several Wintermarked gear powers received corrections.
  • Gauntlets of Unyielding Bastion: Reprisal Reflex is intended to have a 20-second cooldown.
  • Reghed Native Overload damage behavior was corrected.

  • Cosmic Dust drop rates were improved.
  • The Cosmic Dust cost of relevant upgrades was reduced.
