🏙️ River District Territories & Travel

The River District is divided among hostile factions serving the three mages. Routes wind through damaged streets, canals, ruins and defended positions, so opening travel and learning district boundaries saves significant time.

Gyrion's Forces

Arcane enemies and the Ascendant's story occupy one branch of the campaign conflict.

Kabal's Forces

Fire-themed opposition and the Fireforged mage's operations shape another district route.

Nostura's Forces

Fey magic, illusions and Nostura's servants control their own section of the map.

Guard Posts

Reclaiming or defending posts supports zone tasks and gives groups clear public objectives.

Vertical Streets

Markers may sit across canals, above ruined structures or inside entrances; use the road network rather than a straight line.

District Hub

Return to campaign contacts for reports, stores and the next gold quest instead of waiting for a zone objective to advance automatically.

🧱 Restoration, Guard Posts & Repeatables

The campaign's identity is rebuilding control through repeatable work. Players secure positions, recover materials, investigate caches and spend resources on permanent campaign steps and artifact-weapon restoration.

ActivityCampaign UseEfficiency Check
Gold Story QuestsVillain progression and permanent unlocks.Finish before optimizing a resource loop.
Guard PostsPublic defense and eligible daily tasks.Choose active locations with nearby objectives.
Daily / Weekly QuestsReliable campaign progress.Check the current cap before claiming large rewards.
Enemy Caches / TreasuresZone resources and exploration rewards.Confirm which item the active task requires.
Dig SitesInstanced resource and treasure runs.Bring the correct live access item and target a purpose.
Restoration TasksPermanent campaign or weapon progress.Read the exact cost before spending scarce materials.

Stack the Route

Combine a guard post, villain territory and resource objective in one circuit.

Do Not Overspend

Old campaign weapons may be kept for collection or appearance, but confirm modern value before a long restoration.

Check the Cap

A completed task cannot help if its currency award would exceed the current weekly limit.

⛏️ Dig Sites & Treasure Exploration

River District dig sites are private exploration instances entered through locations around the zone. They contain enemies, interactable objects and final rewards, and historically supported the campaign's reclaimed-resource economy.

Before EntryInsideBefore Repeating
Confirm the active campaign task and required access item.Explore side paths only when their rewards support the goal.Check whether the needed item came from the site or another activity.
Choose a site location that fits the current route.Clear required objectives and interact with eligible containers.Compare time spent with guard posts or other repeatables.
Repair and free inventory space if farming several runs.Read the completion prompt before leaving.Do not assume a launch-era drop table is unchanged.

Private Instance

A dig site is not the same as a public Heroic. Party members must enter the intended instance.

Map the Entrances

Learn several entrances so the current district route determines the most efficient site.

Targeted Use

Dig sites are most efficient when tied to a specific campaign task or reward rather than opened at random.

🎭 Illusionist's Gambit & Spellplague Caverns

Module 11 added Illusionist's Gambit, a performance-like skirmish built around changing scenes, and returned Spellplague Caverns as a redesigned dungeon. Both are better learned from current mechanics than from launch-era damage advice.

ActivityFormatPurposeKey Habit
Illusionist's GambitFive-player skirmishVariable rounds, campaign-era rewards and a choose-to-continue structure.Agree whether the group is stopping or pushing onward before the decision point.
Spellplague CavernsFive-player dungeonMechanic-heavy expedition through the renewed caverns.Resolve portals, adds and arena mechanics before returning to boss damage.

Changing Scenes

Gambit encounters shift themes and objectives; read the active round instead of assuming the previous pattern.

Risk vs Reward

Continuing a skirmish run only makes sense when the group can protect the rewards already earned under the live rules.

Spellplague Awareness

The dungeon's visual effects can obscure danger. Keep mechanic targets and group position visible.

⚔️ Restored Artifact Weapons

The campaign introduced restorable artifact weapons built through River District progress and resources. They are an important part of Module 11 history, but their present value is usually collection, appearance or specialized use rather than automatic endgame priority.

Campaign Project

Weapon restoration was tied to permanent tasks and materials rather than a simple one-step drop.

Resource Cost

Count the entire restoration path before beginning on an alternate character.

Collection Value

An older weapon can matter for collection completion, appearance or personal history even when its combat stats are dated.

Current Alternatives

Compare obtainable modern weapons, set bonuses and upgrade cost before investing heavily.

Refinement Rules

Old instructions may use retired marks or success systems; follow the modern refinement interface.

Do Not Destroy Blindly

Check reclaim, appearance, collection and exchange options before discarding a completed legacy item.

🪄 The Three Ascendant Mages

The campaign is easiest to follow when each mage's territory and story are treated as a distinct branch before their threat converges.

Gyrion the Ascendant

The movement's leader pursues magical power and directs the broader assault on Neverwinter.

Kabal

A fireforged mage whose territory and encounters emphasize destructive flame and forged servants.

Nostura

A fey-aligned illusionist whose magic shapes deceptive environments and the theatrical Gambit.

Separate Territories

Use zone landmarks and quest names to identify which villain branch an objective belongs to.

Story Instances

Each branch includes private encounters beyond the public resource loop.

Campaign Convergence

Completing the branches advances the campaign toward its final resolution and group content.

🕰️ Using Module 11 Guides Today
